“Too Old for Disneyland” Beach & Booze Trip, Day 2 Part 3

We were pretty tired after we arrived back at the Hilton but we really wanted to get in some pool time, especially since Rich’s neck and back were hurting from that “Heavenly” bed.

So we changed into our swimsuits and headed out to the pool. It was quite busy with families taking a break from Disneyland, but we managed to snag a couple of chaises in the sun. We slathered on the sunscreen and jumped in the pool. The temperature was just right.

There were a lot of cute kids – I always think kids are cute at Disney parks and in the pool – the other places – not so much – lol! But besides the regular pool, there was a fun kid splash zone. Overall, a pretty nice pool area for an offsite hotel.

After about an hour in the pool, we headed back to our room for a nap. Rich says napping didn’t hurt his back so maybe it was because he slept on his back or it was just for such a brief period.

We woke up and were still so tired that we couldn’t even think about shuttling over to Disneyland tonight. Instead, by now, we were starving (pools and beach make us hungry) so we chose to stay in the room and order room service. Pool food means hamburger to me so I ordered one of those and Rich ordered the ribs and mac n cheese.

The food was very good and the wine delicious. Once the sun set, we took our wine out on our Lanai and sipped. Eventually we went inside to read Sue’s email report and sometime during the evening, we checked on the kitties via text from our pet sitter. Once the Disneyland fireworks ended, we went to bed, still wondering if we’d make it to Disneyland in the morning or wait until evening.

Today was a fabulous day and we had no regrets about ditching Disneyland for nostalgia, the beach, and the pool.
